NASA Goddard Tour

Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO)
Learn about the moon by studying the full-size mechanical prototype of LRO, explore the landing sites of the Apollo missions, stand in the footsteps of astronauts and examine a moon rock brought back on Apollo 14. The primary objective of LRO is to conduct investigations in preparation for future lunar exploration, such as scouting for safe and compelling landing sites, locating potential resources (with special attention to the possibility of water ice), and detailing the effects of prolonged exposure to the lunar radiation environment.
The James Webb Space Telescope
The James Webb Space Telescope will be a giant step forward in the quest to understand our place in space. Webb was built right here at Goddard. Learn more about this exciting mission through an interactive 3-D tour.
For large groups, please provide at least one adult chaperone for every 5 students.
Includes tours of several key areas where NASA is performing key research and development for the Moon and other celestial bodies.
Bus will leave from the Sheraton Pentagon City Hotel promptly at 9:00 am and return by 1:00 pm.
No food is available on site. Picnic tables are accessible in front of the visitor’s center for use before returning to the hotel.

Smithsonian Udvar-Hazy Center Tour
Reservation Details:
Wed, June 5, 2019 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm – McDonnell Space Hangar Highlights Student Tour.
Designed for 8th to 12th grade students, but adults can also attend. For large groups, please provide at least one adult chaperone for every 5 students.
Two large hangars display thousands of aviation and space artifacts, including a Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird, a Concorde, and the Space Shuttle Discovery.
Bus will leave from the Sheraton Pentagon City Hotel promptly at 1:00 pm and return by 5:00 pm
Price: $60 per person
